Hoi An, Vietnam
Viva Danang! Viva Danang!
After a pretty damn exhausting night last night (out till 4am AGAIN!.. found a cool little place called Full Moon Cafe that is roughly 5x5 metres big!), I decided to make the most of my time in Hoi An; get a lil moto and drive on to Danang (about 30 km away)... best decision ever!
While trying to avoid getting smushed by the artillery trucks (former US vehicles are still in use here... but used as bin lorries, etc now) I found a load of little pagodas and a hidden temple where a monk showed me around. He did his best to try and convert me over to Buddhism too... I was still suffering from a headache after last night so didnt fully appreciate his message!
Went to China Beach too which was completely empty but fantastic and clean (it has to be said the beaches of Hoi An and Danang are FAR better than the crummy Costa del Sol-wannabe that is Nha Trang .. plus there are virtually no people trying to flog you stuff!
Im gonna mail the suits back to Dublin today... will take 3 months but will only cost aboot 30 euros.. nice! Folks make sure to expect a large package soon!
Tommorrow Im off to Hue.. I also met plenty of people last night who came from Hanoi and said it was grand as long as you stay out of the hospital so I think Hanoi will still be on the cards for me right now....
PS: Saw the Ireland v England game last night... was watching it with a few Kildare lads and a guy from Germany (who was the only one with an Ireland t-shirt it has to be said). I think it was a fair match despite us not winning, but it didnt stop me heading out for a party all the same!
