Hanoi, Vietnam
Back from Cat Ba
Had a very raucous night last night - out till 12am in a bar with a large group of guys and gals, then found a little bar that opened "unoffically" especially for us (beers were a whopping 1 dollar though! ) and there was a guitar in there which allowed us to jam the night away till around 3am!
There was a power cut in Cat Ba last night, so finding which hotel I was staying in was a challenge to say the least. I was seriously considering just sleeping on one of the public benches!
Bright up early this morn, went through Halong Bay once more... better weather so better piccies of the amazing rock column-islands that surround the bay.
RE Pictures: Its proving difficult to find any scanners in Hanoi, etc plus at this stage I have 20 rolls of film to develop. Its a lot easier for me to carry the rolls of film instead of developing em so Ill put up all the photos when I get to Oz in May/June... alas sorry bout that - I should have got a digi-cam!
Back in Hanoi today... still wrecked so Im gonna meet up with some ppl and chill out at the Jazz Club (amazing drummer and saxophonist play there btw!) and decide my next route. Im heading to Laos in next few days, but want to lighten my load first (my second backpack is now full too!) so, folks, expect a few more packages arriving home in a few months!
