Rockingham and Mandurah, Australia
Leisure Day sightseeing
We got to a late start today and drove to Rockingham. I'd hoped to swim with the Wild Dolphin @ Wild Encounters but couldn't get to the boat in time so that will have to wait until we get back from our next jaunt.
We strolled along the beach area of Rockingham and also went to Peron Point which has a beautiful view of the Indian Ocean. We spotted a couple of place we'd like to go back to and do some snorkling - even saw a woman hand her dog playing.
We then headed a bit south to Mandurah (name adapted from Mandjar, the Aboriginal name for the area which translates to 'meeting place') and had lunch at a little open cafe while we stared out at the sea. Both beaches have grassy areas above the sand and huge trees providing plenty of shade along the strand where you can sit and enjoy the view. We found a dive shop and picked up a mask and snorkle for Tony for when we return.
Tomorrow is The Swan Bell Tower and a round of golf in the afternoon....
