Day on the water

We did an all day tour via boat - we cruised between the Archipelago Recherche Islands spotting New Zealand Fur seals sunning themselves on some islands and Aussie seals basking in the sun on others.  In all, there are 105 islands.

We ended up on Woody Island where we hiked to the top peak which was 137 meters (over 400 feet).  Even though the temperature was 80-85 degrees, there was a constant sea breeze to keep us cool.  After our hike they had a BBQ lunch which was very good.

After lunch we went snorkeling.  The water was cold but once the goose bumps subsided it was a great day.  We saw lots of fish and a couple of bright orange star fish.  At the end of the day we met up with Genie and her friends (they stayed on Woody Island Sunday evening) for the boat trip back to Esperance.

A short nap and we went out for dinner.  We found a bar/restaurant that had music videos (John Lennon/Yoko Ono documentary) and also had OTB (off track betting).  You could bet on greyhounds or horses (pacers).  We didn't place any bets but it was certainly interesting.

We're both pooped from a day of boating, hiking and snorkeling so are making it an early evening.
