Carols by Candlelight
We packed a picnic and Genie, Tony and I headed to Sandalford Wineries in Swan Valley for an evening under the stars. We arrived about 5pm to get a decent spot on the grass with a good view of the stage. The evening cost only a $2.00 coin donation (to help offset the expense of the evening). They also handed out candles to everyone when you arrived.
It was quite hot still at 5pm but we opened a couple of mini umbrellas to keep the sun off our backs until it fell below the tree line. We shared a couple of bottles of champagne while the area filled with people (estimated 10,000).
They had a well planned program - songs, speakers and of course Santa who handed out lollies to all the kids ! Everyone sang aIong to the Christmas Carols (some I was familiar with and several that I'd never heard before). At the end they had a wonderful fireworks display over the lake.
An enjoyable evening was had by all !
